Ridge Racer 2 PSP Review

Two days ago I went to SM to download some PSP games. The first game I downloaded is Ridge Racer 2 unfortunately mine is in Japanese but what the hell I'm still playing it. The game is simple; just win the race or get a certain position to qualify into the next round and win the championship. The game also features arcade, time attack, duel, survival, and wireless battle. The game is really easy to play once you master drifting in this game. The drifting in fact is easy to master. The tracks are from the old ridge racer games but with a better visuals. The soundtrack is really good but unfortunately my games soundtrack isn't working but I still played this game before so I just ignore it. The game also has a good variety of cars and they have 3 different drift types. Standard, Mild, and Dynamic. You'll soon find out when you play this game. Also the game play is smooth.

There are some problems like the cars are just the same but with a higher speed. Sometimes the game can be boring because some races are just to easy. Yet there are some hard moments in the game but most of it is easy if you master drift.

Overall the game is very good. It takes you back to the old ridge racer games mixed with new visuals. So if you have a PSP, or your a fan of racing games. I recommend this game because of its game play, and its fun to play weather your killing time or you just wanted to play a racing game. It may not be realistic so don't compare this game to Forza or Granturismo because its an arcade style driving/racing game. So I'm giving this game an 8 out of 10. Its perfect but its a good game so try it out.

My Favorite PS One game

My favorite PS1 game is also one of my favorite racing game.
The title is called "R4 Ridge Racer Type 4"

Why is it my favorite? It's because of its style. It's different from any other racing games. Also this is one of my first racing games that I have ever played since I was just a kid. The graphics is good during its debut in 90's. The game play is a smooth 30 frames per second. The game is not that hard as long as you memorize the course and being good at taking those corners.

I also love the grand prix mode because you have to choose 4 different teams. Also the team you choose also effects the difficulty in the game and the performance of your car . The four teams are "Team Mappy" having the easiest difficulty. "Pac Racing Club" has a normal difficulty. "Racing Team Sovalou" has a hard difficulty in the game. Finnaly "Dig Racing Team" has the hardest difficulty in the game. After you choose a team you have to choose one of four car manufacturers to use in the race. The goal is simple; you have to win the championship.

Another thing there more than 300 cars in this game to unlock. This adds the replay value of the game. I also love the soundtrack in this game. It's very good to listen and it fits the atmosphere during a race. But there is only one downside. Every time you bump your opponent or a wall; you slow down quickly. It can be irritating at times when you try to pass your opponent suddenly you to a wall then slow down very quickly. That's the only thing I don't like in this game.

Overall I love this game even now I'm still playing it on my emulator. Also it's one of the best PS1 games out there. But comparing to today's games it doesn't stand a chance. Still this game is a classic so if you have epsx or an psx emulator. I say get this game.
